The first-ever Aqua at Plaza 88 Virtual Santa Race was a great success! Not only did we have individuals, families, and groups holding their own Virtual Santa Races, the Burnaby Running Room arranged a group run on December 15 from their store to Aqua at Place 88.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the cancellations and postponements of all live race events, VR PRO introduced an entire calendar full of virtual events and then opened early registration and extended the completion deadline dates for their Virtual Canada Day 5K & NEW 10K, the Virtual Butter Tart 5K & NEW 10K, and the COVID-19 RUN FOR OUR HOSPITAL 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon. And now, we are excited to announce our three NEW Virtual Remembrance Day Races, or three NEW Virtual Hanukkah Events, as well as our Virtual Santa Events! (All Virtual Race kits include race bib, premium, finishers medal, and more...Everything sent right to you!)

When the Virtual Butter Tart 5K event sold out right away, we added spots to accommodate the demand. Those additional spots also sold out right away because so many people wanted to take part in this unique event.

When race events everywhere began to cancel due to the COVID-19 pandemic, VR PRO decided to extend the deadline for the 2020 Virtual Chilly Half Marathon, Virtual Frigid 10K, and Virtual Frosty 5K. Many runners who had already completed one of the virtual races decided to attempt another virtual race distance. Others who had run in one of the live events on March 1 were happy to now have a Virtual Race option so they could practice social distancing and still enjoy racing!

We were asked by a few of our Chilly Half runners if we would do a run for the local hospital. That is why the COVID-19 Virtual Run For Our Hospital event was created. We are donating $15.00 of each entry to either Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation in Hamilton, Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation in Burlington, or St. Josephs Health Care Foundation in London. And we have just added Headwaters Health Care Foundation in Orangeville as our latest hospital to benefit from these events!
Because so many runners were requesting even longer virtual events, we added a NEW VIRTUAL HALF MARATHON EVENT!

VR PRO is proud to announce three new virtual race events...
The Remembrance Day Races are three Virtual Running & Walking Events to Benefit the Juno Beach Centre, Canada’s Second World War Museum and Cultural Centre located in Normandy, France.
There is a race distance for everyone and each distance was selected for its historical significance relating to D-Day and Juno Beach.
Choose from the StrongPoint 1500 - named for the German Stützpunkt (translated ‘strongpoint’) and the 1500 metre stretch of beach taken by the Royal Winnipeg Rifles, the 1st Hussars (6th Canadian Armoured Regiment), and the 6th Field Company, Royal Canadian Engineers on D-Day. Or choose to run or walk the Juno Beach 8K - named for an 8-kilometre stretch of sand the Canadians stormed featuring coastal villages fortified into German strongholds, code-named ‘JUNO’. Or run the Remembrance 21.1K - dedicated to the approximately 21,000 total number of troops who landed on Juno Beach on D-Day. We offer a half-marathon (which is 21.1 kilometres long), in honour of those troops.
Register now for one of these three virtual race distances and receive a race kit including a beautiful, oversized, commemorative medal (pictured at right), along with an official keepsake race bib, an imprinted neck gaitor or mask, a Remembrance Day Poppy, and a beautifully printed Juno Beach D-Day souvenir map, and more!

3 new virtual Hanukkah Races...and you don’t have to be Jewish to run or walk these events!
There really is an event for everyone - regardless of age or ability!
The ‘Hanukkah 8’ is a single 8K virtual race event. Participants in the “Hanukkah 8’ will also receive the beautiful and unique menorah medal and candles.
The ‘Hanukkah Super 8K Challenge’ is for those runners or walkers looking for a more challenging virtual experience. To successfully complete this event, participants must run or walk an 8K Every Day For 8 Days! Those who accept this challenge will be rewarded with a beautiful Star of David ring - like the one shown at right - to wear to your Hanukkah dinner or just to show off your accomplishments to your family and friends!
